How To Use This Calculator

Worked examples to get accurate results from each calculator section.

LPG Full Tank Refill

  1. Select LPG Autogas and Liters unit
  2. Enter 60 as tank size
  3. Enter ৳80 as fuel price
  4. Max fill = 60 × 0.80 = 48 L
  5. Cost = 48 × ৳80 = ৳3,840

LPG Partial Refill

  1. Select LPG Autogas and Liters
  2. Tank size: 60L, Current fuel: 15L
  3. Price: ৳80/L
  4. Max capacity = 60 × 0.80 = 48 L
  5. Remaining = 48 − 15 = 33 L
  6. Cost = 33 × ৳80 = ৳2,640

CNG Full Fill

  1. Select CNG Gas and kg unit
  2. Enter 60 as cylinder water volume
  3. Price: ৳43/kg
  4. Capacity = 60 × 0.17 = 10.2 kg
  5. Cost = 10.2 × ৳43 = ৳438.60

Important Notes & Limitations

Critical factors that affect real-world fuel capacity and cost.

Why LPG Is Filled to 80%

LPG is stored as liquid propane/butane. Liquids expand when heated — sometimes by 10–15% in summer. The 20% vapor cushion allows for this thermal expansion without triggering the pressure relief valve, preventing dangerous venting of raw fuel.

Why CNG Capacity Varies

CNG capacity depends on station fill pressure (typically 200 bar but may be lower), ambient temperature (warm gas is less dense), and the gas composition (methane content). A "full" fill at a low-pressure station may deliver only 70–85% of the theoretical weight.

Effects of Temperature

Both fuels are temperature-sensitive. LPG liquid expands in heat (OPD valve compensates). CNG gas stored at fixed pressure weighs less when warm. Expect slight capacity variations between seasons — typically 5–10% difference between summer and winter.

Manufacturer Specs Always Win

The values printed on your cylinder's certification plate — water capacity, test pressure, design pressure, tare weight — always take precedence over any calculator estimate. Consult your installer or manufacturer if specifications are unclear.
