Methodology

Weighted Average Slab Formulas

This section explains the calculation logic, assumptions, and source material used to make the result more trustworthy and easier to verify.

Sanchayapatra uses a layered progressive rate slab:
Slab 1 (Up to ৳15 Lakh): Amount × Full rate
Slab 2 (৳15 Lakh to ৳30 Lakh): Amount × (Full rate − 1%)
Slab 3 (Above ৳30 Lakh): Amount × (Full rate − 2%)
Tax Deduction (TDS):
If Investment ≤ ৳5,00,000: Tax = Gross Profit × 5%
If Investment > ৳5,00,000: Tax = Gross Profit × 10%
Monthly Payout = (Yearly Net Return) ÷ 12
Quarterly Payout = (Yearly Net Return) ÷ 4

Sanchayapatra Investment Rules for Savers

💡 Bank account must match National ID (NID)

Sanchayapatra purchases are registered directly against your NID. Interest and principal at maturity are transferred via EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) to the bank account linked to your NID.

💡 Tax exemption limits

No tax is deducted if your total savings certificate holdings do not exceed ৳5 Lakh. TDS is 10% on the entire profit for amounts above ৳5 Lakh. Source tax is deducted automatically.

💡 Quarterly vs Monthly payouts

Paribar pays profit monthly. Pensioner and 3-Month Interval certificates pay profit quarterly (every three months). 5-Year Bangladesh Sanchayapatra pays interest at maturity.

💡 Nominee details

You must appoint one or more nominees. NID, photos, and signatures of nominees are required during purchase. Nominee shares can be updated at any time.

💡 Where to purchase

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Who is eligible to purchase Paribar Sanchayapatra?

Paribar Sanchayapatra (Family Savings Certificate) is designed for adult Bangladeshi women (aged 18+), physically challenged citizens (male or female), and senior citizens aged 50 and above.

How is the NBR source tax (TDS) calculated on Sanchayapatra profit?

If your total cumulative investment in Sanchayapatra does not exceed ৳5 Lakh, the tax deducted at source is 5% on the profit. If your total investment exceeds ৳5 Lakh, the tax rate is 10% on the entire profit payout. This tax is automatically deducted before profit is credited to your bank account.

What is the maximum investment limit for Sanchayapatra?

For Paribar, the limit is ৳45 Lakh (singly) and ৳90 Lakh (jointly). For Pensioner, it is ৳50 Lakh (single). For 3-Month Interval and 5-Year Bangladesh Sanchayapatra, the limits are ৳30 Lakh (single) and ৳60 Lakh (joint).

How do the slab interest rates work if I invest more than 15 Lakh?

Bangladesh Bank uses a progressive slab structure. The first ৳15 Lakh earns the full interest rate (e.g., 11.52% for Paribar). The next ৳15 Lakh (from ৳15,00,001 to ৳30,00,000) earns a reduced rate (e.g., 10.52%). Any investment above ৳30 Lakh earns the lowest slab rate (e.g., 9.52%). Your monthly payout is the weighted average of these slabs.

Can I withdraw my money before maturity?

Yes, premature encashment is allowed after completing at least 1 year. However, if you encash early, you will not receive the full interest rate. Instead, you will receive a reduced interest rate based on the number of completed years (e.g., 9.5% after 1 year, 10% after 2 years, etc.), and any excess profit already paid monthly will be adjusted and deducted from your principal.

Actual returns depend on your purchase date, changes in government policies, premature encashment conditions, and final TDS tax adjustments.
